No medal - so next stop 2012 for Bassadone and Clark

CHICHESTER may not be welcoming home an Olympic medallist – but the city can take great pride in the efforts of Itchenor's Christina Bassadone and ex-Chichester University student Saskia Clark
.
The duo overcame a series of setbacks in the 470 dinghy racing to finish sixth – one place better than Bassadone managed with Catherine Hopson in the 2004 Games in Athens.
Now the pair are determined to make up for their disappointment by striking gold when the Games come here in four years' time.
There's a lot of hard work ahead of them – both to keep their place in the GB squad and to plug the gap between themselves and this year's medallists.
But it is a challenge they are ready to rise to.
And Bassadone spoke of her pride at being part of one of the great GB sailing teams of all-time. "We are standing on the world stage with undoubtedly the best-ever sailing team," she said.
